Affiliate Disclosure — Owning A Fender

Last Updated: 23-07-2026

1. In Short

  • Some links on owningafender.com are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission, at no additional cost to you.
  • As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
  • Our own digital products (setup guides, valuation reports, and other downloads sold directly on this site) are not affiliate products — we keep 100% of those sales, and they are covered by our Refund Policy.

2. What Is an Affiliate Link?

An affiliate link is a special link that tracks whether a purchase was referred from our site. When you buy through one, the retailer pays us a small percentage as a "thank you" for sending you their way. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your wallet.

3. The Programs We Use

  • Amazon Associates — we currently earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through our Amazon links (for example, recommended strings, tuners, tools, and other gear in our buying guides).
  • We are in the process of joining additional music-gear affiliate programs (such as Reverb, eBay, and specialist retailers). As those go live, this page will be updated.

If you'd like to see a specific program added, or have a question about how we link to a product, contact us.

4. Our Editorial Independence

Affiliate commissions do not decide what we recommend. We only link to gear and resources we believe are genuinely useful for the job — typically the same items we'd suggest if a friend asked. A higher commission never pushes a worse product ahead of a better one.

Where we're aware of meaningful alternatives, trade-offs, or reasons a product might not suit you, we say so. Our setup guides and valuation tools exist to help you make a good decision; the affiliate links are a convenient way to act on it.

5. Where You'll See Affiliate Links

  • Buying guides and "best of" comparisons (for example, recommended strings or tools).
  • Contextual product suggestions inside our setup and troubleshooting content.
  • Occasionally, curated links on tool result pages where a specific product is the natural next step.

We do not use affiliate links in a deceptive way, and we do not run "blind" redirects — every affiliate link leads to the retailer it appears to.

6. Your Price Is Unchanged

To be explicit: using our affiliate links never increases the price you pay. If you'd prefer not to use them, you're welcome to search for the product directly — we're grateful for your readership either way.
